Heidegger is known as a very energetic player with great confidence in his shot, one who can emmerge behind the pick or create of the move. He reads the opponent's passing lines well, knows how to find his teammates and is not afraid to drive to the basket even in front of physically larger opponents. He has a great range beyond the arc and he is not afraid to throw even with a guards' hand in his face.
Heidegger started the season well with 19.9 points per game, overcame an ankle injury and finished the year as Santa Barbara's leading scorer with 16 points per game, 3.2 assists and 2.4 rebounds. Also in his second season in college he finished among the best players of the "Big West" with 19.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 40.4% beyond the arc.
