James Webb III was incorporated to the Maccabi squad ahead of the 2023/24 season. He was born on August 19th, 1993 in Augusta, Georgia. He moved to South Carolina in high school and began his collegiate career with the modest North Idaho Cardinals. During his sophomore year, the energetic forward transferred to Boise State, where he blossomed and earned First Team All-MWC (Mountain West Conference) honors.
Though he went undrafted, Webb III earned a contract with the Brooklyn Nets after two seasons in the G-League. He appeared in 10 NBA games before embarking on his European adventure. He played for Bonn in Germany, returned stateside for another stint in the G-League, and in 2020 joined Larisa in Greece. A breakout season in the Greek league (13.3 PPG, 9.6 RPG and 48.5% from 3) saw Webb III move to Spain. He spent two seasons at Murcia before playing last season with the orange uniforms of Valencia.
The 2.06M (6-9) American had a successful maiden season in the EuroLeague with the Spaniards. He delivered 8 PPG while shooting 38.4% from long range in the competition, while grabbing 4.1 RPG in under 22 minutes per contest. In the demanding Spanish ACB League, Webb III had 10 PPG, 36.8% from deep, 5.5 boards and 24 minutes PG.
