Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv remains unbeaten after the fourth day of the Euroleague Regular Season after a brilliant in in Bologna, 111-104 in overtime.
Maccabi led 25-24 at the end of the first quarter but Skipper went to the br4eak with a 48-45 lead. They opened an 8 pts lead (56-48) before Maccabi came back and at the end of the third Maccabi led 69-66.
The home team ran 14-2 at the start of the final period and led 80-71 & 83-73. In the final minutes it was a battle from the free throws line. Skipper led 97-94 with 13 seconds to go when Tal Burstein missed his two free throws. Baston granned the offensive rebound and Burstein buried a three pointer with two seconds remaining and sent the game to overtime.
Maccabi opened a 101-97 lead but the Italians made it 102-102. Baston & Vujcic fouled out but a three pointer by Parker and four free throws by David Bluthenthal made the score 109-104. Jasikevicius made the final score with two more free throws. Maccabi scroed 42 of 50 free throws (84%). Skipper had 43 attempts from the perimeter and made only 13 (30%).
Anthony Parker was chosen as MVP by the fans with 21 pts, 6 assists & 5 rbds. But once again it was Maceo Baston who dominated the game with 19 pts, 18 rbds, 7 steals & 2 blocked shots and made him Euroleague's MVP of the week for second time in a row.
