The first round of the Euroleague is coming to an end, and Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv wants to seal it with a win. The yellows will meet Zenit Saint Petersburg in Russia on Thursday and hope to end the negative streak that now stands on six straight losses.
Zenit is one of the best defensive teams in the Euroleague, conceding only 71.7 points on average. "We want to come back and win," said Giannis Sfairopoulos ahead of the game. "For me the most important thing is how we approach the game mentally and how ready we will be to execute our game plan."
"We are desperate to win, and we need to play accordingly," added Keenan Evans. "We had some good training sessions this week, so I feel we are ready. We are grateful to our fans who support us and encourage us to play better. Without them in the stands we will have to play and compete even harder".
