Twenty-five days have passed since Maccabi Playtika Tel-Aviv played its last home game due to the Covid situation, but this forced break will come to an end on Thursday.
The Yellows will host Olympiacos at Menora-Mivtachim Arena and try to end the negative streak of 8 losses in a row. Today, the Israeli champions and state cup holders trained with almost a full squad, but still without Khyri Thomas, the team's new signing.
"We're back after a long time, and this has a lot of meanings," Giannis Sfairopoulos said ahead of the game. "To me, our opponent is the most stable team this season in the Euroleague and also plays good basketball. It would be a challenge".
Maccabi's coach also talked about the tight schedule that awaits his players. "We are going to play 33 games in 100 days. We have to be mentally prepared and fight for every win".
During the game, the inauguration ceremony of Ralph Klein and Joshua Rosin, two of the club's legendary coaches, will be held at the Maccabim Hall.

A streak of 8 losses in a row came to an end today for Maccabi Playtika Tel-Aviv. The yellows that played their last Euroleague game in December defeated Olympiacos 84:69 at home and got small revenge over the Greeks.

After a close first half (40:38), Maccabi played great defense in the second half and created a comfortable lead that lasted until the last buzzer. Giannis Sfairopoulos can be very happy with the contribution of Ante Zizic, who led the scorers with 23 points.

With this win, Maccabi now holds an 8:11 record in the competition, looking forward to a very busy week: In seven days, the yellows will face Hapoel Tel-Aviv, Alba Berlin, Fenerbahce, and Hapoel Holon.
