Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv were defeated 72-89 by Olympiacos in Piraeus on Thursday, handing the yellows their second EuroLeague loss in a row. The Israeli champions could not contain Serbian big man Nikola Milutinov and felt the absence of Lorenzo Brown due to back spasms.
It was a game in which the Greeks dominated from start to finish, despite Maccabi's best efforts to create a comeback. Milutinov had a career game with 20 points and 20 rebounds, almost half of them on offense. Wade Baldwin IV led Maccabi with 18 points, while Tamir Blatt and Bonzie Colson had 10 points each.
The loss means Maccabi are down to a 12-10 record, same as their rivals. Up next for Oded Kattash and his men is a derby against Hapoel Tel Aviv on the road on Saturday.
