The National Cup will remain with Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv for the 8th year in a row after they beat Bnei Hasharon 108-89 8in the Final. This was Maccabi's 35th Cup win.
After 24-24 at the end of the first quarter, Maccabi increased the pace and won the second 31-19 and at half time the lead was 55-43.
Three consecutive personal fouls on Baston followed by a technical, enabled Bnei Hasharon to cut the lead to 63-55. But Maccabi went on a 9-0 run and at the end of the third period led 80-63. Parker fouled out with 6 minutes left, Bnei Hasharon cut the margin to 10 pts (92-82). But the final word was Maccabi and Nikola Vujcic who deservedly won the MVP award. He was also taken by captain Gur Shelef to receive the Cup from the State President, Moshe Katsav.
Maccabi had an incredible shooting night with 69% FG including 12-20 for 3 pts. They also dominated the rebound (36-21) and made a record of assists (35).
Vujcic scored 29 pts in 81% FG, pulled down 6 rbds and dished put 5 assists.
