Maccabi Fox Tel Aviv trailed for much of the match against Hapoel Jerusalem but an 18:3 run in the late stages of the game and a perfectly executed final play gave the home team an 85:83 win that sent it to 6:1 in Israeli league play and extended its lead at the top of the table.
DJ Seeley scored 17 points including 3/5 from outside. Sylven Landsberg scored 11, as did Andrew Goudelock who came back from an injury. But it was Goudelock 3rd assist that proved fateful. With the score tied at 83:83 and time running down, the guard drew the double team and set up Joe Alexander for an easy dunk. Jerusalem had one last shot but Dyson missed from outside.
"It was really all about Andrew", said Alexander, "he was really hot in the fourth quarter so they had to send two players after him. I'm glad I got to put it away. Getting such a reaction from the fans is really amazing".
Coach Rami Hadar said: "it was an important win on several levels, not least of which is team moral. We played tough, we played together and I'm glad we got the win, even though our execution level wasn't as high as I want it to be".
