Coach Spahija's starting five: Jackson, Zoosman, Roll, Bolden and Tyus. The Greeks opened the game with two three pointers by Lekavicious to give the locals the 9:4 lead three minutes into the game. Bolden scored but Panathinaikos reacted quickly to increase their lead to 13:6. Roll alongside Cole who stepped in the game for Pierre due to his second foul, tied the game at 18 apiece, the Greens called for a timeout from which they returned with a 7:3 run to finish the first quarter with the 25:21 lead.
Thomas opened the second quarter with a three pointer but Rivers answered with one of his own as the locals increased their lead to 35:26. Jackson and Art brought Maccabi closer to the greens as the scoreboard showed 35:31. The locals scored again but Art and Thomas made it a one point game (39-38). Rivers scored from distance again but Cole reacted with an "and one" play. Lekavicious had the final word of the quarter as at halftime the locals were up 49-43.
With both sides struggling to score in the first two minutes of the third quarter, Panathinaikos were the first ones to end the drought as they took a double digit lead (53:43), Tyus scored on a fast break but the locals made another three pointer to regain their double digit lead (58:48). Jackson completed a three point play but the greens kept their composure as they finished the third quarter with the 67:56 lead.
The greens momentum continued into the fourth quarter as well as they were up 72:56, Kane and Tyus made it 72:60. Kane who was very active alongside Thomas brought Maccabi closer (74:67) as Coach Pascual called for a timeout from which the locals came more focused, and unsportsmanlike foul called against Jackson allowed Panathinaikos regain their double digit lead (80:67) from which the yellows couldn't recover as Pao secured the 89:76 win over Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv.
