Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv completed its long journey to Baskonia-Gasteiz that included a connection in both Brussels and Bilbao from which they traveled by a bus to Baskonia where they will play their 29th EuroLeague game of the regular season.
"We don't count on whether the chances are high or low, we just want to play one good basketball game and to try to do our best", said coach Neven Spahija. "lately Baskonia are playing amazing basketball both defensively and offensively but we prepared and had a very good practice everybody's healthy and we will see what we can do. At the beginning of the season even in that game (i.e. game against Baskonia in Tel Aviv) we didn't play our best basketball, they also had some problems and they changed their coaches it's a completely different game".
"Practice was intense", said DeAndre Kane. "We got in here and did some good things, for us the goal is just to win the next game against Baskonia tomorrow, we can't control the playoff run right now, we need to play this game and try to win the next and whatever happens with Baskonia in the last game is out of our control but all we can do is focus on us and winning this game".
"You can't really look at that game (i.e. in TLV against Baskonia)", added Kane. "they're a different team with a different coach they are playing like the best basketball in Europe probably with CSKA and a few other teams, we can just control what we can control and we will give our 100 percent from the first minute to the last and hopefully we will get the win".
"It's a game that we got to try and prove ourselves and compete", said DeShaun Thomas. "We got to see who we are, what kind of a team we are, we're still in the fight and we're Maccabi proud so in this game we gotta give our all".
