Encouraged from the win against Anadolu Efes, Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv completed its preparations for the Israeli El-Classico against Hapoel Jerusalem, the yellows are looking to build on the momentum created after the win on Thursday. Spahija's squad are entering a week where every win is simply a must.
"After the Ness Ziona game we had a couple of days to change the circumstances and to prepare our players for the game against Efes", said coach Spahija. "We did something outside of the box, we definitely got something out of it and hopefully we can continue the same way. I really don't know about that (Jerusalem's situation), we did good preparations and scouting just like we did in the EuroLeague and even if lately they didn't play that good we don't pay attention to it, we're going to do our best and to try and play the same good defense and in the end if we are going to make some threes that will help which is not realistic to do like we did against Efes but I think that with our defense and our activity in rebounding we can do a lot".
"I think we just commit to defense and executed on the defensive end" said Norris Cole, "Offensively we finally we got into a groove and made some shots, basketball is about making and missing shots on the offensive end and on defense we had a game plan and we were able to go out there and execute the game plan and to play with a lot of energies and that's what you saw. This game (Jerusalem) is about us, we have to worry about us and we have to play how we play".
Norris added: "As you can see things happen, you cannot look at records and you cannot look at how the team is playing, when they're coming here we expect them to give us their best shot and we have a game plan and it's our job to execute the game plan and get the win. I know that it's a rivalry but I don't have anything to compare it to, I'm worried about us to be honest, not about them, we have to make sure that we play how we play and if we play like we play we give ourselves a good chance and we've proven that on both ends, if we don't what we're supposed to do we don't play well, but if we do what we're supposed to we're bringing the energies we execute the game plan and we give ourselves a chance to win so we have to execute on our end and then we'll see what happens".
