Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv traveled to Istanbul where they will face the EuroLeague runner ups Fenerbahce in the last game of the regular season. The yellows can qualify to the playoffs in a number of scenarios and finish their regular season even as the 7th seed, but first they will have to win. The final fight for the playoffs will tipoff on Friday (20:45 local, Sport5).
"We keep our minds on tomorrow's game because the most important is us", said Coach Giannis Sfairopoulos yes we count on the results of other teams, but if we don't play good and we are not ready to play a good game, we don't have any chances, the number one need to qualify is for our team to play good and to try and win the game. We know that we have a tough mission they are the first team in the standings, they didn't lose a game at home but we have our plan and we believe in ourselves. We need to follow the plan and to fight hard till the end for 40 minutes as best as we follow the plan, the best it will be for our team".
"Family is first before basketball", said DeAndre Kane. "I appreciate Maccabi for letting me go home and spend time with my family and my mom, I'm always ready to play, no matter the circumstances but like i said my first priority was to go and be with my mom and be by her side with the things that she's going through. Anytime a family member gets sick it's gonna be a tough time especially when it's your mom, for me that's like one person I always look to for advice and things, and when she can't talk and things like that it's tough for me but she's doing better and I'm back and ready to help the team. I was checking and following up and I knew my team will be good and do the right things and they did so we got one more game to play and we're gonna go out there to fight and see what happens".
"They are playing really good", said Angelo Caloiaro. "We have to play our A game tomorrow, I mean really all we can focus on is believe in ourselves that we can go on the road and get a big victory and that's what we have to worry about and I guess we'll see what happens after that but that's what we have to focus about".
