With the beginning of the season lurking just around the corner Maccabi started its second preseason tournament in Zadar, Croatia against Milan. Milan capitalized at the beginning but Maccabi managed to stay close in the first half. The Milanese increased their lead in the third but Maccabi's ability from beyond the arc gave them the 73:70 to which Milan reacted with a 10:2 run to secure the 75:80 win over Maccabi. In his first game in yellow and blue Scottie had 15P, 2R & 4A, Johnny added 12P, 6R and 3A.
Coach Spahija's starting five: Wilbekin, Kane, Zoosman, O'Bryant and Caloiaro. Della Valle and Brooks gave Milan the early 0:4 lead, James' three pointer forced Coach Spahija to call for an early timeout with the scoreboard showing 0:7. Scottie scored six points to keep the yellows close to Milan (6:9). Milan completed an 8:2 run to take the 8:17 lead with just over two minutes remaining in the first quarter.
Maccabi showed a lot of hustle enroute of a 6:0 run (14:17) forcing coach Pianigiani to call for a timeout. Both teams traded blows until the end of the first quarter with Milan having the 19:22 lead.
Ray scored at the beginning of the second quarter to make it a one point game, but Milan reacted as they took the 22:26 lead. Zoosman scored a three pointer after a great ball movement (25:26).
Scottie and Jake completed the comeback giving Maccabi the edge (31:29). James scored from deep to give Milan the lead again but Wilbekin tied the game with three minutes remaining in the first half (35:35). Gudaitis and Fontechio made sure Milan will have the edge 41:42 edge at halftime.
