24 hours after their loss to Panathinaikos Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv wanted to start off their busy week on a positive note as they faced Hapoel Eilat on the road. After a good start having the early lead the game was stopped for a period of 45 minutes due to poor playing conditions. Eilat took the lead but Maccabi tied the game before halftime. In the second half Coach Neven Spahija's squad came out swinging and never looked back as they grabbed the 70:83 win to remain unbeaten domestically. Black (14P&7R) and O'Bryant (16P&4R) led the scorers in yellow and blue.
Coach Spahija's starting five: Wilbekin, Kane, John-Di, Cohen and Black. Black scored Maccabi's first four points, Eilat answered with a three pointer but Scottie found Kane for back to back threes to give Maccabi the early 3:10 lead. The game was stopped on the account of too many players slipping on the court. The game was renewed after a 45 minute recess due a slippery court. Zalmanson completed a three point play but Black reacted with a ferocious dunk (6:12). Black was simply unstoppable with yet another dunk to keep Maccabi ahead thanks to a beautiful dish by John-Di but Eilat had the final say in the first with the scoreboard showing 17:21.
Tyus found Caloiaro for an easy layup at the beginning of the second quarter, but Eilat reacted as they trimmed Maccabi's lead to 22:23. Thomas completed Eilat's comeback (27:26). Bourdillon'sthree pointer increased Eilat's lead to 32:28 but Kane and John-Di made sure Maccabi will remain close to the southerners (32:31). Tokoto scored four points to increase Eilat's lead to 39:33 with just over a minute remaining in the game. Johnny and Cohen completed a 6:0 run to tie the game as the first half coming to an end (39:39).
O'Bryant was unstoppable on the offensive end as he led Maccabi alongside Cohen and Kane to a 45:53 lead. Roll and Black made it double digits (57:47) with just over two minutes remaining in the third quarter. Black made both of his free throws to increase Maccabi's lead to 49:61but Bourdillon completed a three point play to end the third quarter with his team trailing 52:61.
Black found Caloiaro for an easy layup at the beginning of the fourth quarter (52:63), Maccabi's in and out game between Black and Roll ended with the later hitting a three pointer (55:66). John-Di was fouled on a three point attempt and made all of his free throws to make it 55:69. Eilat scored to make it 61:71 as Coach Spahija called for a timeout. Johnny's beautiful dish to Cohen was followed by a long two jumper as Maccabi increased their lead to 61:74. Smith and Bryant brought Eilat closer to 65:74 but Cohen's free throws kept them at bay (65:76) with under two minutes remaining in the game. Roll's floater made sure Eilat will not be able to comeback as Maccabi grabs the 70:83 win.
