Entering to one of their most crucial weeks of the season Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv faced Hapoel Holon at home. The crew in yellow and blue fired on all cylinders in the first quarter enroute of a 30:15 lead. The visitors managed to imposed their will to complete the comeback in the second quarter but Maccabi reacted to end the first half having the edge, Holon went on a scoring frenzy in the third putting the yellows in chase mode. John-DiBartolomeo tried to spark the late comeback but Walden secured the 86:94 away win for Holon who also took the top of the domestic standings.
Coach Sfairopoulos' starting five: Wilbekin, Zoosman, Caloiaro, Cohen and Black. Pnini scored twice for the visitors to put them ahead 3:4 early in the game. Caloiaro and Black capitalized on the offensive end as the crew in yellow and blue took the 11:10 lead. O'Bryant's three-point play completed an 8:2 run to increase Maccabi's lead to 19:12. Atkins scored from deep but the yellows answered with an 11:0 run to end the first quarter with a clear message having the 30:15 lead.
Coach Sfairopoulos called for an early timeout in the second quarter after Holon scored four unanswered points (30:19). Holon continued their comeback attempt with Walden scoring a corner three to make it 36:29. Scottie scored from deep but Walden's three brought the purples to within a striking distance (39:38). Pnini and Jones completed Holon's comeback making it 42:47 with less than a minute remaining in the first half. The squad of coach Sfairopoulos remained poised with Pargo and Cohen making sure Maccabi will have the 48:47 edge at halftime.
Jones was the man for Holon putting his team ahead 49:53 at the beginning of the third quarter, Pargo tied the game but the visitors answered with 7:0 run to take the 55:62 lead. Zoosman tried to spark the yellow offense with four points, however Holon remained focused increasing their lead again with just over a minute left in the third quarter (67:59). Johnny had the final say in the quarter completing the three-point play to bring Maccabi closer to Holon (64:68).
Both teams traded blows at the beginning of the fourth with Holon being the ones to capitalize forcing coach Sfairopoulos to call for a timeout (69:78). Pargo's off the dribble deep dagger to keep the Maccabi in the game (76:83). Reynolds scored to keep the yellows at bay with 02:23 remaining in the game (80:89). John-Di sparked a 6:0 run for a late comeback attempt to make it 86:89. With 20.4 seconds remaining in the game Walden scored a three pointer securing the away win for Holon (86:94).
