"It's not just basketball, its bringing happiness"
Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv made this morning (Monday) its annual Purim visit to the Dana children's hospital in Tel Aviv. The players, coaching staff and the management were accompanied were accompanied by representatives from Caf? Greg, the Ayanot youth village, the "Shlomit" foundation, the Maccabi weekly show host Yarden Appleboim, and Donny the team's mascot.

The players and the coaching staff went visited the rooms of the hospitalized children and talked to the families, they also took pictures with the patients and the hospital staff. The team also gave gifts to the kids. Marcello Enchilini – Franchi Real Estate, Caf? Greg, the "FOX" group and P.M.I that produces the Supergoal albums have assembled the gift packages given to the kids.

"It’s a great event, I'm happy and excited to be here and to spend time with the children and their families and to give them the gifts", said Maccabi's captain John DiBartolomeo. "We're happy to be here, it feels great I wish the kids to keep on fighting, to be healthy and happy and to have fun as much as they can. We hope to see them get better".

"It's fun to come here to make children and families happy, it's very exciting to do it from the bottom of our hearts", Yovel Zoosman admitted. "I think that the players that are here for the first time know about days like these, I heard Johnny O'Bryant saying that in Memphis he had similar events. I wish the kids to be healthy and get better, to get back to themselves".

Coach Giannis Sfairopoulos, which with his first assistant Vassilis Geragotelis asked about the holiday of Purim and the tradition to wear costumes, added: "Maccabi is showing its social side as a club. It's not just basketball it's also bringing some happiness to people and today we visited the hospital to make the children smile and happy. We're very happy that we came here to be with them and to give them gifts. The most important thing is that we give them strength and they are strengthening us so that we could fight on the court".

"I think it's lovely, I see the players very excited. They know where they are going and when they get there they meet the children and they see them smile", said Maccabi's marketing and community relations vice CEO, Doron Jamchy. "There cannot be a better gift, these are different proportions. We're coming from a situation where we are fighting in games, making it to the top 8, not making it to the top 8, winning or losing, but we're coming here and we see how it affects the kids".

"I'm also very happy to see the players and the coaches are very connected to that cause, they're receiving explanations about what's happening here". Jamchy unveiled. "During the year we keep in touch with all of the children departments with the "complicated" conditions let's put it this way, we invite them to the EuroLeague games, they sit in the watching boxes where we bring them food and we visit them".

"From responses that we are getting, we very well know that it has an influence on the kids and it does good not only to them but also to their parents that also need their refreshment", Jamchy concluded. "When they see the smiles upon the children's faces it does something amazing to the parents and that's a remarkable connection".
