
Completed his Second season with Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv. Was part of winning two Premier League championships and two national Cups as well as taking part of the EuroLeague Final Four 2001-02 and the Adriatic League final in 2002-3.
Graduate of Kent State University (1972). Since 1972 playing and coaching in Europe. Started as a player in Sporting Geneva (Switzerland). In 1974 moved to Sweden and played for Plannja Basket Lulea until 1978 and then for Solna Stockholm until 1983. During that period won two championships and finished twice as runner up.
In 1984 became coach of Solna as well as the Swedish National Team. In his first season as coach won the Swedish Championship. For seven years kept both positions. In 1991 moved to Lulea and coached there until 1998. In the 98/99season coached German Club ULM. The following season returned to Sweden and coached New Wave Gothenborg. In 99/00 coached M7, Magic Johnson team in Sweden and the following season the Great Danes, Magic Johnson team in Denmark and the NEBL. In the same time served as the Manager and coach of the Danish National Team. As a coach Barton won 5 National Championships and 4 National Cups. Made the playoffs in NEBl, Saporta Cup and the Korac Cup.
