Roman Sorkin, who was born in Belarus and immigrated to Israel with his family at the age of two, played for the Oregon Ducks for 4 years, between 2014 and 2018. Between 2015 and 2017 he collaborated with none other than Tyler Dorsey, when in their final season together the two helped the team reach the prestigious and grueling NCAA Final Four.

Upon returning to Israel, Sorkin signed with Maccabi Haifa and played there for three seasons. With the Greens, Roman showcased his abilities as a tall player with a large wingspan who can put the ball on the ground and shoot from outside. He was selected as March MVP in the league last season and set his career record with 27 points against Hapoel Holon.

The forward, who can also play as a center, grew up in Ashdod and played for the local Elitzur team. Sorkin played for Israel's national youth teams until the age of 18, took part in the U-20 team and was even included in the senior team squad for the 2022 EuroBasket qualifiers.
