Omer Mayer was promoted to the senior team in the summer of 2023, before his 17th birthday, after being a standout in the club's top youth team. He is a strong and athletic point guard, who plays with poise beyond his age and possesses great shooting ability from range.
Mayer was a member of Maccabi's youth department since 3rd grade, and was promoted to the U18 team at the age of 15. In the past season in the U18 Israeli League, the guard delivered 12.2 PPG, 4.2 APG, 5.1 RPG, 1.6 SPG and 17.1 PIR per game. He helped the team win both the Israeli league title and Israeli cup.
He also excelled with the U18 Israeli national team in the 2023 European Championship - where he delivered 15.6 PPG, 3.9 APG and 2.9 RPG while playing nearly 33 minutes per game.
