Rochestie is a top-level left-handed point guard, with excellent shooting ability from outside the arc and from the foul line. He has a talent for creating shooting opportunities for himself and others. He excels at reading plays on court and is a solid passer.
He was born in Houston, Texas and is a graduate of Washington State University (2009). After college he moved to Europe, where he has spent the last six years gaining experience. In 2009-10 he played for German club Göttingen, which he led to victory in the Eurochallenge and was named MVP of the Final Four. He spent the following season with Galatasaray of Turkey, playing in the Eurocup, but he left in the middle of the season, returning to Germany to play for Alba Berlin. He also played for Le Mans of France, Spanish club Caja Laboral (his first time playing in the Euroleague), and Biella and Sienna of Italy. In January of 2014 Rochestie signed with Russian club Nizhny Novgorod, where he had an outstanding season and a half.
This past season was an amazing one for Rochestie, as he led Nizhny Novgorod (in their first season in the Euroleague) to the Top 16 and finished as the Euroleague Best Scorer with an average of 18.9 points per game with fantastic percentages: 52% from 2 point range, 50% from 3, and 92.5% from the foul line. He led the Euroleague in points and in free throw shooting, second in weighted index (21), third in drawing fouls (5 per game), and in percentages from 3. Similarly, he handed out an average of 5.7 assists per game (sixth in the Euroleague), including a memorable 15 assists in his team’s victory over Anadolu Efes of Turkey – a Top 16 record. He scored in double figures in every game, and 8 times scored more than 20 points, with his record being 29 points.
